Soreide Law Group comes to you with new information in regard to securities broker Mark Lee Elafros (CRD#: 2337393, Chicago, Illinois). Evidently, Elafros worked for securities firms Madison Avenue Securities (2013 to 2016), Ausdal Financial Partners (2016 to 2018), American Trust Investment Services Advisory (2018 to 2019), Brookstone Capital Management (2020 to 2021), and Charles Schwab (2021 to present). FINRA BrokerCheck shows that two investors complained about Elafros’ sales practices at Ausdal and Madison. Here’s a summary of those disclosures.

Mark Elafros’ Client Alleges Unsuitable Investments By Elafros At Madison Avenue Securities, Ausdal Financial Partners

Evidently, a client brought a FINRA Arbitration Claim in May 2021 regarding investments in unit investment trusts and private placements. Supposedly, Mark Elafros’ sales were unsuitable. Basically, suitability concerns an investor’s risk tolerance, investment objectives, financial needs, and more. For this reason, the client asked for compensation to resolve this ongoing matter.

Madison Avenue Securities Client Alleges Breach Of Fiduciary Duty, Misrepresentation In Connection With Alternative Investment Transactions

Notably, in June 2017, a client of Madison Avenue Securities disputed Mark Elafros’ actions as a financial advisor. It appears that Elafros caused the client to incur losses from unsuitable recommendations. The investor reportedly purchased a fixed annuity, real estate security, and business development company (BDC). Supposedly, Madison Avenue Securities acted in breach of fiduciary duty based on Elafros’ conduct. Not only that, but the investor alleges misrepresentation relating to those investment transactions. As a result, Madison Avenue Securities opted to resolve this matter through a $40,000 payment to the client in September 2018.
