Securities Broker Peter Schiff Involved In Euro Pacific Capital Investor Disputes
New client disputes appear on FINRA BrokerCheck concerning securities broker Peter David Schiff (CRD#: 1759484, Newport Beach, California). Evidently, those disputes concern Schiff’s purported misrepresentations and unsuitable transactions at Euro Pacific Capital (now known as AGP Alliance Global Partners). Schiff became an Alliance Global Partners broker in 1997 and a financial advisor in 2009. Here’s what the investors allege in these disputes.
Euro Pacific Capital Investor Alleges Breach Of Fiduciary Duty By Peter Schiff
Notably, a client of Euro Pacific Capital came forward in February 2021 with allegations of Peter Schiff’s sales practice violations relating to a private placement. First of all, the client alleged omissions and misrepresentations of important details relating to the private placements. Secondly, the client alleged breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. Finally, Euro Pacific Capital faced accusations of failure to supervise (2015 to 2021). For this reason, the client asked for compensation. It appears that Euro Pacific Capital settled the matter, with no admission of liability, by agreeing in August 2021 to make a $45,000 payment to the client.
Also, Peter Schiff denies the allegations, claiming to have not known the client or had any role in supervising the broker that sold the investments.
AGP Client Alleges Misrepresentation, Unsuitable Private Placements
Evidently, in the second dispute on BrokerCheck – a FINRA Arbitration Claim from April 2019 – a client of AGP Alliance Global Partners alleges Peter Schiff’s sales practice violations concerning a private placement, including misrepresentation, unsuitable investments, failure to supervise, and failure to disclose risks. Supposedly, the client invested in private placements that resulted in $450,000 in damages. However, Schiff claims to have not had any personal contact with the client. The broker and firm deny the allegations against them. It appears that in May 2021, AGP resolved this matter by paying $60,000 to the client.
