Investors might have sustained losses due to securities broker Sean Michael Flynn (also known as Michael Sean Flynn) [CRD: 1335032, Danvers, Massachusetts], based on disclosures on Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck. Flynn has worked for Commonwealth Financial Network as a broker since September 10, 1991, and as an investment adviser with the same firm since February 7, 2014. Readers may wish to continue reviewing the information below to learn more about the disclosures associated with Flynn’s professional record.

Commonwealth Financial Network Investor Accused Flynn Of Sales Practice Violation

Evidently, a Commonwealth Financial Network client filed FINRA Arbitration No. 24-01203 concerning Sean Flynn. Mainly, the client alleged that Flynn mishandled a life insurance policy by allowing it to lapse. For this reason, the client allegedly sustained damages related to life insurance products. Therefore, on January 23, 2025, Commonwealth Financial Network settled this matter by paying the client $1,000,000 in damages.

Sean Flynn Disclosed Unsuitable Recommendations Allegations By Commonwealth Financial Network Client

Notably, a client of Commonwealth Financial Network disputed Flynn’s sales practices by filing FINRA Arbitration No. 11-00713. Allegedly, Flynn made unsuitable recommendations during a volatile market period. It appears that Flynn allegedly caused the client to incur damages involving mutual funds. As a result, Commonwealth Financial Network opted to settle the matter on February 14, 2012, by compensating the client in the amount of $40,000.
