Madison Avenue Securities reported that McCarthy’s employment ended following an internal review involving allegations that he accessed clients’ personal bank accounts, participated in payments from those accounts, and that certain payments allegedly benefited individuals with a familial relationship to him.

FINRA later requested documents and information according to FINRA Rule 8210. According to FINRA, McCarthy declined to provide the requested materials. As a result, FINRA found that he violated FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010 and imposed a bar from the securities industry.
