Clients Indicate MML Broker Charles Evan Gave Bad Advice, Misrepresented Investments
Investor Alert! The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) reports troubling allegations of misconduct concerning Charles Jonathan Evan (CRD#: 836083, Wellesley, Massachusetts). Namely, the securities broker, who worked for securities firms including MSI Financial Services (2015 to 2017) and MML Investors Services (2017 to 2019), reports eight disputes between 2019 and 2020. Not only that, but MML disaffiliated with him for bad sales practices prior to FINRA barring him for failing to take part in an investigation. Here’s more on the disclosures which suggest that Evan sold bad life insurance policies to his clients.
MML Investors Services Suggests Charles Evan’s Theft By Deception
Apparently, a client of MML Investors Services contested Charles Evan’s sales practices in a June 2020 lawsuit. It appears that Evan was unethical and deceptive when dealing with the client in 2019. Specifically, the client suggested that Evan omitted facts and misrepresented facts in connection with the client’s investments. Also, Evan supposedly provided bad investment advice to the client. By acting on this advice, the client incurred losses and has sued for compensatory relief in this ongoing matter.
Evan Allegedly Misrepresents Annuities, Life Insurance
Evidently, in April 2020, a client of MSI Financial Services took aim at Charles Evan through a complaint. Mainly, the client indicated that since 2016, Evan’s bad advice and misrepresentations created losses and other problems for the client. It seems that Evan overlooked the client’s objectives, liquidity needs or risk tolerance. For this reason, the client seeks compensatory relief.
Charles Evan Supposedly Forges Client Signature On Documentation
Also, in March 2020, MML Investors Services received a complaint from a client about Charles Evan. First of all, like the other client suggested, this client indicated that Evan was unethical and omitted facts in connection with his sales of investment and insurance contracts. Secondly, Evan supposedly lied about the commissions he received in selling the financial products. Finally, Evan supposedly forged the clients’ signatures on documents connected to the sale of the products. Apparently, this matter is ongoing.
FINRA Expels Evan As Securities Broker
Notably, FINRA barred Charles Evan indefinitely effective January 2020 for violating FINRA rules. FINRA reports a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent in March 2020 where Evan agreed to the sanctions to resolve allegations of his failure to cooperate in an investigation. FINRA wanted Evan to tun over any documents and info which related to his sales practices. It seems that the financial watchdog specifically questioned him regarding insurance sales at MML Investors Services – and the investigation came after the firm disaffiliated with him for allegedly making “inappropriate traditional insurance” sales.
